• h'q KLEINFELDER <br /> Each sample is individually labeled. The label includes Kleinfe der's name, job number, <br /> the date and time the sample was collected, the employee num er of the individual who <br /> performed the sampling, and a unique five-digit sample identific tion number. A custody <br /> seal may be placed on the sample in such a way that any attempt tamper with the sample <br /> is easily visible. <br /> A-2.4 Sample Handling <br /> After labeling, the sample is immediately stored in an iced cooler for transport to <br /> Kleinfelder's office sample control or to the analytical laboratory A Kleinfelder chain-of- <br /> custody form accompanies the cooler. The chain-of-custody fo m includes Kleinfelder's <br /> name, address and telephone number, the employee numbe of the individual who <br /> performed the sampling, the sample numbers, the date and time the samples were <br /> collected, the number of containers each sample occupies, and the analyses for which the <br /> samples are being submitted, if any. The chain-of-custody form is signed by each person <br /> who handles the samples, including all Kleinfelder employees an I the receiving employee <br /> of office sample control or the analytical laboratory when the samples are delivered. <br /> A-2.5 Decontamination of Equipment <br /> To reduce the potential for cross-contamination, augers and sociated equipment are <br /> steam cleaned prior to drilling each boring. In addition, sampling equipment is cleaned <br /> with a trisodium-phosphate wash and rinsed with distilled water pi ior to collecting each soil <br /> sample. <br /> A-2.6 Soil Cutting Disposal <br /> Drill cuttings will be placed in 55-gallon drums or wrapped in p astic and left on site for <br /> disposal by the site owner. If requested, Kleinfelder can coordinate disposal of soil and <br /> water after analytical results are available. <br /> A-2.7 Soil Boring Closure <br /> Upon completion of drilling and sampling, soil borings will be closed by backfilling the <br /> borings with a cement/bentonite grout. <br />
