PUBLIC NOTICE
REMEDIAL INVESTIGATION REPORT FOR
Former American Moulding and Millwork Co ►te,
^+ Stockton, California I V,V 'J
APPROVED
w W
From April 9 to May 10, 2010, the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC'}i&epted
public comments on the draft Remedial Investigation Report (RI) for the<Former Arnirican
Moulding and Millwork Company (AMMC) site located at 2801 West Lane and 1800 North
Marshall Avenue Stockton, CA. AMMC conducted wood products manufacturing from 1920 to
1993. Past activities contaminated soil with dioxin/furans and polynuclear aromatic
hydrocarbons (PAHs). Soil gas and groundwater contained elevated levels of volatile organic
compounds (VOCs).
Soil and soil gas at the site were cleaned up to a level that is acceptable for
commercial/industrial land use. Because the site was not cleaned up to a level acceptable
for residential use, a deed restriction (also called a land use covenant) to restrict future
use of the site will be recorded.
If you have questions about the site or the project, please contact Mr. Thomas Berg, DTSC
Project Manager, at (559) 297-3978, or Ms. Heidi Nelson, DTSC Public Participation Specialist,
at (916) 255-3575 or (866) 495-5651. Ms. Nelson is also available by email at
hnelson(Ddtsc.ca.gov. Members of the media should contact Ms. Kam Kimberley Coveyou,
Information Office, at (916) 324-8304. Ms. Coveyou can be reached via email at
kcoveyouCa_)dtsc.ca.aov.
The approved RI Report, deed restriction, and other related documents are available for review
at the Robert C. Cabral Station, 949 East Chanel Street, Stockton, CA, and the
Department of Toxic Substances Control, 1515 Tollhouse Road, Clovis, CA, 93611.
Information regarding the project can also be viewed electronically at:
http://www.envirostor,dtsc.ca.gov/publie. When in the EnviroStor program, type the word
"Stockton" in the space that reads 'City'. Then press the 'Get Report' button at the bottom of the
screen. You will find "American Moulding and Millwork" is the third site listed from the top.
Press the 'Report' button and various information about the site will be available for you to
review.
