InSL�l�lsu v LSv <br /> �r Fact Sheet,April 2010 APR 0 6 <br /> I RI Report for FormNVl ONMENTWff&lLToulding and Millwork <br /> Company Site Available for Review and Comment <br /> The Department of Toxic Substances Control(DTSC)requests public comment on a <br /> Department of Remedial Investigation Report(RI)which proposes a deed restriction be placed on the <br /> Toxic Substances"` former American Moulding and Millwork Company(AMMC) site located at <br /> Control 2801 West Lane and 1800 North Marshall Avenue in Stockton, California. <br /> About The Site <br /> The AMMC site(referred to as the Site) consists of approximately 62 acres of <br /> unincorporated land within the City of Stockton and consists of five seperate parcels. <br /> The Site is zoned for industrial use and is currently vacant. <br /> The-Mission of the AMMC conducted wood products manufacturing from 1920 to 1993.Environmental <br /> investigations discovered that past practices at the Site resulted in contamination of soil <br /> Deparrinentof with Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs). Soil gas and groundwater contained <br /> elevated levels of Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs). <br /> Toxic Substances <br /> What Are PAHs and VOCs? <br /> ,0111701 a to PAHs: are chemicals that are formed during the incomplete burning of coal,oil and gas, <br /> garbage, or other organic substances like tobacco or charbroiled meat.
