' • Repairs should be made to the underground d esel tank piping.
• After the repairs to the underground diesel tank are completed,
' the oily soil areas in the maintenance shop ditch should be
excavated to visibly clean soil. When this activity is
completed, soil samples of the exposed surface should be
' collected and analyzed for gasoline/diesel and oil/grease to
verify that all contaminated soils have beea removed. If
' contamination still exists, further excavation should be
performed. After verification is completed, the excavated areas
should be backfilled with clean fill materials. Contaminated
soils should be transported off-site by a licensed hauler to an
approved hazardous waste disposal site.
The above recommendations should be discussed with DOHS. Any future
' actions must be approved and coordinated with EDHS.
t
' - -
2611F 10
