1
• Gasoline/diesel was detected at approximately 1000 ppm in the
' shallow (1.5-2.5 feet) soil sample at location P6 in the
maintenance shop ditch. It appears that this elevated
concentration is the results of a leak in the piping of an
' underground diesel tank. Gasoline/diesel concentrations at the
other locations in the maintenance shop ditch were less than
' 100 ppm.
' Based on our assessment of the Phase I data, the following future
actions are recommended:
' • oily areas within the truck parking/lumber storage areas should
be either:
' - Excavated to visibly clean soil and backfilled with clean
' lr fill materials. Contaminated soils should be transported
{ V off-site by a licensed hauler to an approved hazardous waste
 disposal site.
Pv" - Disked to promote biological degradation of the oil and left
i
in place..
' - Paved to prevent surface water infiltration.
Future spills in the area should be cleaned up immediately and
properly disposed.
' • The vertical extent of PCP contamination at location P11 should
be further investigated. As a result, analysis of the 1 to
' i 2 foot soil sample at locations Pll, P12, and P13 is currently
V being performed.
- 9
2611F
