Thi disposition of each <br /> tank is as follows: <br /> Previous Investigations <br /> UST 18820001/18822 <br /> UST numbers 18820001 and 18822 are believed to be the same tank,a 10,)00-gallon diesel tank <br /> located west of the Electric and Lunch Room Building on the south portio i of the Site(Plate 4.1.2). <br /> The UST system failed a precision test on November 18,2001, and the pr duct line was repaired <br /> on December 15, 1988. On August 27, 1993,the UST was removed and oversight of the PHS- <br /> EHD at which time two confirmation soil samples each were collected from beneath the former <br /> UST and product line piping/fuel dispenser. Petroleum impacted soil was identified below the <br /> UST and fuel dispenser as a result of the sampling. <br /> h1 March 1994,an estimated 880 cubic yards(cy)of soil were removed from the UST area; <br /> approximately 700 cy of the soil was reported to be impacted by petroleur.i hydrocarbons. <br /> Confirmation samples were collected from the tank area in August 1998 a id case closure was <br /> granted by the PHS-EHD in 1999 (AGE, 2001). <br /> USTs 18820002 and 18820005 <br /> UST 18820002, a 10,000-gallon UST utilized for diesel fuel storage,was ocated west of the <br /> former maintenance building on the south portion of the property. A 500gallon waste oil tank <br /> (18820005)was located on the east side of the building (Plate 4.1.2). The USTs were removed on <br /> May 11, 1988,at which time contaminated soil was encountered in both bink excavations. The <br /> maintenance building was removed and over 3,000 cubic yards of impacted soil were excavated <br /> and remediated on site prior to disposal off-site. The clean-up level was set at 10,000 mg/kg for <br /> TPHd,necessitating long-term ground water monitoring of the site.
