AOC Work Plans
sample collected beneath the center of the UST did not contain detectable doncentrations of
petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel. Kleinfelder refers to a 500-g illon diesel tank near the
boiler having been removed and closed with no additional information(AGE, 2001). As discussed
above,no formal closure letter has been issued for this UST;however, according to the PHS-EHD,
there are no outstanding issues related to any of the USTs(with the except on of USTs Number
0002 and 0005).
UST 18820006
UST 18820006 was not a UST,rather,it consisted of three individual sums(exempt from state
UST regulations, but regulated by the Department of Health Services [D S])connected to a
common drain line(Plate 4.1.2). The drain line carried waste water from a steam cleaning
operation to a drainage ditch located on the west margin of the site. Kle' elder noted that soil
within the steam cleaning area and within the three subsurface concrete taps had been sampled and
analyzed and did not contain elevated hydrocarbon concentrations. Kleml elder also noted that the
traps reportedly had been removed and the steam cleaning operation disrry, ntled(AGE, 2001). The
drainage line is being investigated as part of the Steam Cleaning and West em Ditch Areas,
described below in Section 4.4. As discussed above,no formal closure let ter has been issued for
this UST;however, according to the PHS-EHD,there are no outstanding i sues related to any of
the USTs(with the exception of USTs Number 0002 and 0005)..
UST 18820007
This UST was a 10,000-gallon tank formerly located on the south side of he former cover plant
(Plate 4.1.2). The UST was utilized for storage of primer waste water thal was periodically
pumped out for disposal off site. The UST was removed November 12, 1 87,and contamination
was reportedly not detected in excavation confirmation samples collected beneath the former UST.
Draft
KB61125 worrkpl=-ESC MACTEC Engineering and Consulting, Inc. 19
September 28,2005
