AOC Work Plans <br /> 4.1.3 Septic Tanks <br /> Site Summary <br /> A total of six septic tanks and associated leach fields have been identified on the Site,two of which <br /> are currently active. The active septic systems are located on the north and east portions of the <br /> property(Plate 4.1.3);one east of the existing Maintenance Building,the other west of the <br /> Millwork Building. The inactive septic tanks are all located on the south portion of the site(Plate <br /> 4.1.3);one east of the former Cover Plant, one east of the former Finger J intsBox Factory <br /> Building,one south of the former Nurse's Station,and one west of the fon aer Maintenance <br /> Building near the former 10,000-gallon diesel UST. The inactive septic ta iks east of the Cover <br /> Plant and Finger Joints/Box Factory Buildings were removed in March 2005 under the oversight of <br /> the County Health Department. The inactive tank south of the former N 's Station is caved in <br /> and partially filled with debris. The inactive tank west of the former Maintenance Building is <br /> believed to have been removed concurrently with removal of the building md excavation of diesel- <br /> impacted soil (AGE,2000). <br /> Previous Investigations <br /> Maintenance Building Septic Tank—Active <br /> In June 2000 AGE collected a total of five soil samples(at depths betwe 20 and 55 feet bgs) <br /> from three borings(LP 1,LP2 and LP3;Plate 4.1.3) drilled in the septic lei ich field east of the <br /> existing maintenance building. Samples were analyzed for formaldehyde TRPH,VOCs, <br /> chromium,lead,and zinc. Formaldehyde,TRPH,chromium,lead,and zinc were detected at <br /> maximum concentrations of 8.9, 55,41, 1.1 and 80 mg/kg respectively,below their respective <br /> residential PRG or background level.
