29 January 2002
' AGE-NC Project No. 98-0466
metals concentrations exceed any environmental guidelines. Due to labor tory equipment issues, the
soil sample could not be analyzed for formaldehyde within the hold time.
' Analytical results of soil samples are summarized in Tables 3 and 4. Copies of the laboratory report
(MAI Lab IDs 82791, 82800, 82809, 82546, 82556, 82564, 82565, 83738 and CLS Lab ID Nos.
T3003-1A through T3003-3A) and chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix C.
' 4.3. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLE
Grab ground water samples were collected from soil borings PB 1 through PB3 and PB5 through
' PB 12 at depths of approximately 60 feet bsg; a grab ground waters le was collected from soil
boring PB4 at a depth of approximately 55 feet bsg.
' TPH-d was detected in the water samples collected from soil boring PB , advanced near the south
steam cleaning area, and from soil boring P1312, advanced near the north storm water basin, at
concentrations of 64 µg/1 and 51 µg/1,respectively.TPH-d and TPH-mo were detected in the ground
N water sample collected fromsoil boring P138, advanced near the Millwor Building wash-down area,
at concentrations of 89 µg/l and 330 gg/l, respectively. TPH-g, TPH d and TPH-mo were not
detected in the samples collected from PB 5, PB6, PB9 and PB 11.
Formaldehyde was detected in the water samples collected from PB 10, advanced near the 44x120
Storage Building, and PBI I and PB 12, advanced near the burn pits and Orth storm water basin, at
concentrations of 110 µg/1, 120 µg/1 and 150 µg/1, respectively. Formaldehyde was not detected in
water samples collected from borings P134 through PB9.
' Dissolved chromiumwas detected at concentrations of 0.038 mg/l,0.073 mg1l,0.026 mg/1 and 0.095
mg/1 in the water samples collected fromborings P135,PB6,PB 11 andPB 12,respectively.Dissolved
lead was detected at a concentration of 0.032 mg/l in the water sample collected from PB 11.Arsenic,
copper, nickel and zinc were not detected in the analyzed samples.
' VOCs, SVOCs and phenols were not detected above laboratory repoiting limits in the analyzed
ground water samples.
' Analytical results of the grab groundwater samples are summarized in T bles 5 and 6.
