29 January 2002
AGE-NC Project No. 98-0466
' concentrations were at or near background levels and do not exceed any environmental guidlines.
No other analytes of concern were detected above laboratory reporting limits.
' 4.2.2. Former South Steam Cleaning Area
' One soil sample collected from soil boring PB3 advanced near the formc r south steam cleaning area
was submitted for analysis as noted above. TPH-g, TPH-d and TPH-rr o were not detected above
' laboratory reporting limits. Chromium, lead and zinc were detected at concentrations of 56 mg/kg,
7.7 mg/kg and 70 mg/kg, respectively. The detected concentrations were at background levels and
do not exceed any environmental guidelines.
' 4.2.3. Ray Bond Area- "Penta Tank" and Wash-Down Area
' One soil sample collectd from soil boring PB4 was submitted to MAI f or analysis as noted above.
Formaldehyde was detected at 3.2 mg/kg. SVOCs and phenols werc not detected at or above
laboratory reporting limit concentrations.
' 4.2.4. West Ditch Area
Two soil samples collected from soil boring PB5 and one soil sample from PB6 were submitted to
MAI for analysis as noted above. TPH-d and TPH-mo were detectedconcentrations as high as
3.3 mg/kg and 33 mg/kg,respectively, in sample PB5-10. TPH-g and S OCs were not detected in
either sample collected from boring PB5.The pH of soil sample PB5-5 was reported at 7.95 by MAI.
' TPH-g, TPH-d, TPH-mo and SVOCs were not detected in the sample yzed from boring PB6.
Formaldehyde was detected in soil samples collected at 5 feet bsg ir. borings PB5 and PB6 at
concentrations of 4.3 mg/kg and 6.8 mg/kg, respectively. Chromium as detected in PB5-5 and
PB6-5 at concentrations of 43 mg/kg and 42 mg/kg, respectively. Lead was detected at 8.0 mg/kg
and 5.7 mg/kg and zinc was detected at 64 mg/kg and 65 mg/kg, respectively. The metals
' concentrations in soil appear to be at or near background levels, and do not exceed any
environmental guidelines.
' 4.2.5. Former Cover Plant Wash-Down Area and Former Teepee Stru tune
' One soil sample collected from soil boring PB9 was submitted to MAI f or analysis as noted above.
TPH-g,TPH-d,TPH-mo,VOCs and SVOCs were not detected in the samples analyzed. Chromium,
• lead and zinc were detected at concentrations of 5lmg/kg, 12 mg/kg and 68 mg/kg,respectively. The
' reported metals concentrations appear to be at or near background levels.
