• CAM metals - STLC - EPA 6010;
• Chlorinated Pesticides and PCBs - EPA 8080;
• Organophosphate Pesticides - EPA 8140; and
• Total Recoverable Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TRPH) - EPA 418.1.
Borings for monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-4 were also used to supplement the soil
investigation. Two relatively undisturbed soil samples were collected from each of the monitoring wells
Jborings. Soil samples were collected from near the ground surface (0 to 6 inches bgs), and from the
capillary fringe (approximately 10 feet bgs). Soil samples collected from MW-1 and MW-4 were
analyzed for the constituents listed above plus the following constituents:
J
• Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) - EPA 8240; and
1 • Semi-volatile Organic Compounds (SVOCs) - EPA 8270.
7 Soil samples collected from MW-1 were also analyzed for:
J
• Elemental (Total) Sulphur - EPA 6010; and
• Sulfates - EPA 9030.
Task 3 - Groundwater Investigation
This task consisted of the drilling,installing, developing,and sampling of groundwater monitoring
wells. Groundwater monitoring well locations were coordinated with DBT representatives to avoid
interference with planned future development of the parcels. Well locations are shown on Figure 2. One
upgradient (background) groundwater monitoring well (MW-1) was located in the northeast corner of the
portion of Parcel III, just south of the tracks. Groundwater monitoring wells were located downgradient
of the proposed sulphur stockpile in Parcel I (MW-2), the proposed copper concentrate stockpile in Parcel
II (MW-3), and the existing petroleum coke stockpile in Parcel III (MW-4). San Joaquin County well
M
installation permits were obtained prior to the implementation of this task. Drilling, well completion,
development and sampling protocols are presented in Appendix A.
Groundwater samples from MW-1 and MW-4 were analyzed for the following constituents:
• CAM metals - TTLC - EPA 6010;
• Chlorinated Pesticides and PCBs - EPA 608;
• Organophosphate Pesticides - EPA 614;
• Total Recoverable Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TRPH) - EPA 418.1;
• Purgeable Halocarbons - EPA 601;
'I SAC28.013 December 20, 1991
3
`?i:Po'18S 3. 2trl6F'
