3.2.1 Duplicate Samples
Duplicate storm water runoff samples will be collected for 15 percent of
the total number of samples collected. Each of the duplicate samples will
be collected simultaneously with the original storm water sample of a given
area. The sampling methods used to collect original and duplicate samples
will be identical. In addition, original and duplicate samples will be
placed in identical containers and handled in the same manner. The sample
areas from which the duplicates are collected will be documented in the
field logbook.
3.2.2 Trip Blanks
Two trip blanks will be prepared in clean sample containers by the
laboratory to accompany sample containers transported to the site. The
trip blanks will remain onsite during sampling, will be submitted to the
laboratory along with the storm water samples, and will be analyzed in the
same manner as the storm water samples.
3.2.3 Background Samples
Two background samples of the rainfall will be collected at the facility
while the storm water samples are collected. Clean collection devices will
be used to collect the background samples of the rainfall before the
rainfall reaches the asphalt surface of the South Yard. The background
samples will be transported to the laboratory in clean, one liter
polyethylene bottles along with the storm water samples and will be
analyzed in the same manner as the storm water runoff samples.
3.3 DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES
Decontamination procedures for personnel, equipment, and disposal of waste
materials will be in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan for
Remedial Activities at the site.
4.0 SAMPLE CUSTODY AND DOCUMENTATION
Sample custody and documentation procedures will be followed according to
Section 4.3.3 of the Current Work Plan.
3
