DAMES & MOORE l F[" 11 ILLI`UTbf kT, RtiHIF <br /> 9300 TECs{CENTER DRIVE SUITE 100 SACRAMENTO CALIFORNIA 95826 (916)364 8698 <br /> November 6, 1990 <br /> BFI Waste Systems <br /> 4001 N Vasco Road <br /> Livermore, CA 94550 <br /> Attention John Lydick <br /> Re Sail Disposal <br /> Former American Forest Products Site <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Job No 15884-011-043 <br /> Dear John <br /> Dames & Moore has conducted a program to analyze the soils removed from the vicinity of two <br /> former underground storage tanks containing diesel tuel located at the above referenced site Soil samples <br /> were submitted for hazardous waste classification tests according to the California Code of Regulations <br /> (CCR) Title 22, Article 11 These tests included ignitibility, 96-hour aquatic bioassay, bioaccumulative <br /> or persistent substances (CAM metals) and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHldiesel) Results of these <br /> tests are presented in Tables 1 and 2 These soil samples were collected from "hot spots" near the zone <br /> of diesel contaminated soils identified in our previous investigation and removal of the underground diesel <br /> ' storage tanks Gasoline was not detected in any of the soil samples, theretore, benzene, toluene, xylene <br /> and ethylbenzene (BTXE) were not priority analytes The BTXE soil sample results are presented in <br /> ' Table 3 <br /> The analyses cited in this letter report were performed on samples which met the holding times <br /> and analytical techniques specified in "Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste, Physical/Chemical Methods" <br /> SW-846, 2nd edition (U S Environmental Protection Agency, 1982) These analyses were performed <br /> by laboratories certified by the California Department of Health Services with the exception of soil pH <br /> which was performed by A & L Western Analytical Laboratories, Modesto, CA, a non-certified <br /> agricultural soil testing laboratory <br /> UFFICES W�RLDW ME <br />
