This facility does not have a valid ID number to manage hazardous waste. A hazardous waste generator shall not treat,store,dispose of,transport or offer for transportation,hazardous waste without an ID number. If you or your business generates more than 100 kg of RCRA hazardous waste and/or more than one kg of acutely hazardous waste,then you need to obtain an EPA ID number. All others must obtain a State ID number. Go to the DTSC web site http:/Mww.dtsc ca.govADManifesVPERMHWID_cfm for the form to apply for an ID number. Immediately obtain an ID number to manage hazardous waste and submit evidence to the EHD. A trailer that had caught on fire was observed with approximately:31 five gallon paint buckets,50-100 one gallon paint buckets,and six 55 gallon drums. In addition,there were miscellaneous chemical containers. Several of the containers had been damaged during the fire and were seen leaking the contents. According to the manager, Holanda Preciado,the materials are old and the contents are not entirely known. Immediately make a complete hazardous waste determination and property dispose of the waste. Another trailer next to the one that ought on fire was observed with six 55 gallon barrels labeled'sludge" contianing a dirt-like substance(5 were full, 1 was half full). In addition,there was one 55 gallon drum observed containing a black liquid(quarter full).A trailer on the west side of the yard was observed contianing several pallets of precipitated silica. Some of the bags had been tom and the contents were found on the floor of the trailer. For each trailer,make a determination on if the contents are a waste. If any content is determined to be a waste,make a complete hazardous waste determination and property dispose of it A sump containing an oily liquid was observed during the inspection. According to the facility manager.Hardeep Singh,the liquid does not flow through. The only drain observed leading to the sump was in the shop located adjacent Make a complete hazardous waste detennination on the sump oily liquid and a complete hazardous waste determination on the sump sludge(if any). Send documents to the EHD detailing the sump size and piping layout. In the shop,a white 5 gallon container was observed containing black saturated absorbent. Outside of the shop,an oily saturated rag was observed in the trash can.The facility manager is not sure If the waste is going to be disposed of as hazardous waste or not Immediately take the oily saturated rag out of the trash can and make a complete hazardous waste determination on rags and on the absorbent Near the shop,one rusted 55 gallon steel drum was observed(quarter hull)containing a liquid with debris in it The facility manager was unsure If the drum contents were hazardous or not. Immediately make a complete hazardous waste determination of the drum content. Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste Is a hazardous waste.
