PUBLIC HL-ALTH SERVICES
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY g
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION .
r
Karen Furst, M.D., M.P.H., Health Officer
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor • Stockton, CA 95202 4`'P0
2091468-3420
PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE OF FINDINGS REGARDING
SITE MITIGATION PLAN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a corrective action plan for remediation of a leaking
underground storage tank site located at 8950 W. Walnut Grove Rd., Thornton, in the
County of SanJoaquin (APN 001-150-29) on the south side of Walnut Grove Rd., east of
1-5, has been reviewed by San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Division (PHS-EHD). The plan is a proposal for mitigation (soil over-excavation)
of hazardous substances which may have contaminated the site due to an unauthorized
release associated with the underground storage tank (UST) which was located on the
property.
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division, Local UST
Oversight Program, has made a tentative determination that the plan is in compliance
with local, State and Federal laws and regulations and that the resultant work will not
create significant adverse environmental impacts which exceed the benefits to be gained
from cleanup of the contamination.
The corrective action plan is available for public review at PHS-EHD, 304 E. Weber
Street, Third Floor, Stockton, California, during normal working hours, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00
p.m. If a written request by any member of the public is not received by PHS-EHD
by 5:00 p.m. Friday, Febuary 18, 2000, the tentative decision shall become final on
that date and time.
All requests for public hearings must be filed in writing to PHS-EHD at 304 E. Weber
Ave., Third Floor, Stockton, 95202. Questions regarding the specific site concerns or r
procedures should be directed to Harlin Knoll, Senior Registered Environmental
Health Specialist, PHS-EHD, at (209) 468-3442.
Dated: Febuary 18, 2000
By: Donna Heran, Director, Environmental Health
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
