The groundwater samples (as presented on Table 2)will be analyzed for
the following:
• TPH as diesel by USEPA Method 8015 Modified;
• Dissolved metals by USEPA Methods 6020/7471A;
• Ammonium (as nitrogen)by USEPA Method 350.3;
• Chloride, sulfate (as SO4),and nitrate (as nitrogen)by USEPA
Method 300.0;
• Alkalinity by USEPA 310.1; and
• pH by USEPA 150.1.
4.6 AQUIFER SLUG TESTS
Following well installation, development, and groundwater sampling,
slug tests will be performed on all monitoring wells installed for the
investigation. Both falling and rising head tests will be conducted. At the
beginning of the test the water level within the well will be measured.
Then,a slug of known volume will be instantaneously lowered into the
well,causing the water level to rise. The rate of water level decline
(falling head) will be measured with a water level meter over time. After
the water level has returned to static, the slug will be removed,causing an
instantaneous water level decline. The rate at which water recharges into
the well and the water level rises will be measured as the level returns to
static. Following data collection,the data will be analyzed using available
software to determine the in-situ hydraulic conductivity measured in the
four monitoring wells.
4.7 GROUNDWATER TIDAL INVESTIGATION
Transducers will be placed in the four monitoring wells to monitor the
fluctuation of groundwater elevation and help to determine the hydraulic
gradient at the Site. The data will be compared with tide records obtained
from the Stockton Deep Water Channel. The data will be collected from
each well over a one month period (one tide cycle) using transducers
calibrated to take readings every 15 minutes (arithmetic scale). Following
the data collection, the water levels in the wells will be analyzed to
determine if there is a tidal influence on the groundwater at the site.
oenl 11 L6CO,MC/M7373.01-No NJ'J
