4.8 QUALITY ASSURANCEIQUALITY CONTROL PROCEDURES
As part of the quality assurance/quality control procedures for the first
round of groundwater sampling, the following will be submitted to the
laboratory for analysis in addition to the groundwater samples.
• One field blank prepared in the field using deionized water,
transferred through decontaminated well sampling equipment.
• One trip blank consisting of deionized water prepared in the
laboratory, transported to the sampling location (in the ice chest to
be used for the transport of all samples), and transported back to the
laboratory along with the other groundwater samples.
• One duplicate sample collected from one of the wells being
sampled, and 10 percent of the groundwater samples collected in
future events.
Purge water from all monitoring wells will be containerized until properly
disposed,as detailed in Section 4.10.
4.9 EQIHPMENTDECONTAMINATIONPROCEDURES
Nondisposable equipment (e.g. drilling and sampling equipment) utilized
during the subsurface investigation will be decontaminated prior to use at
each location and at the completion of field activities. Decontamination
will be performed with high-pressure steam wash or diluted
nonphosphate soap, followed by a distilled water rinse.
4.10 INVESTIGATIVE-DERIVED WASTES
Investigative-derived wastes (IDW),including soil cuttings,
decontamination water, and purge water will be containerized onsite in
55-gallon steel drums. All IDW generated during the project will be
sampled and profiled to determine the proper disposal method.
4.11 HEALTH AND SAFETYPLAN
The scope of work detailed above will be performed under the guidance
of the Site-specific Health and Safety Plan, developed in July 2006 prior to
ERM's 2006 Facility Investigation.
ERM 12 LESCO,INC/0067373.01-Novmb 2k17
