1
' 4.2.2.4 Total Petroleun2 Hydrocarbons
Each of the four recon-laissance groundwater samples was analyzed for
' ] TPH in the purgeable range. Two of the four reconnaissance groundwater
samples SB-5 and SB-6 were analyzed for TPH in the extractable range.
Temporary wells SB-4 and SB-7 did not yield enough water to collect
1 recomlaissance groundwater samples to be analyzed for TPH u1 the
extractable range. No TPH in the purgeable or extractable range was
1 1 detected in the reconnaissance groundwater samples.
4.2.2.5 Inorganics
Each of the four reconnaissance groundwater samples was analyzed for
chloride, nitrate, sulfate, ammonia as nitrogen, and perchlorate. With the
exception of perchlorate, each of these general chemicals was detected in
the recomlaissance groundwater samples. The laboratory reporting limit
for perchlorate was elevated because of matrix interference in the sample
' and no detections of perchlorate were reported. A PMCL or SMCL has
been established for these chemicals and the following table presents the
range of inorganic chemicals detected at each temporary well location.
Ammonia as nitrogen does not have an established PMCL/SMCL.
' Constituent Units Low Concentration High Concentration
Detected Detected
Chloride* mg/L 73.3 (SB-7) 1,520 (SB-6)
1 Nitrate mg/L 37.1 (SB-7) 318 (SB-6)
Sulfate* mg/L 327 (SB-4) 6,280 (SB-6)
AnnnoniaasNitrogen mg/L 4.7 (SB-7) 3,730 (SB-6)
1 *- Denotes National Secondary Drinking Water Standard, which are non-enforceable.
1 Each of the four reconnaissance groundwater samples was collected for
pH analysis. The groundwater pH in three of the reconnaissance
groundwater samples was below the average range of 6.5 to 8.5 (SB-4,SB-
5, and SB-7).
1 ERM 12 LESCO/0024301-3/3/2005
J
IJ
