T F
- Coca-Cola Enterprises - West
job No. 90054
2.3 SCOPE OF WORK
The objectives of the contamination assessment were to assess the vertical and lateral extent of
petroleum hydrocarbon contamination found beneath the site during UST removal operations
and to provide data so that an effective remedial action plan could be developed and
implemented. To accomplish these objectives,USTEC divided the asssessment into the following
tasks.
o Review of the existing data and current site conditions.
o A soil gas survey to aid in the placement of groundwater monitoring wells and
soil borings.
o Drilling,soil sampling,groundwater monitoring well installation,and groundwater
sampling.
o laboratory analysis of soii and groundwater samples.
 o Contamination source identification. +.
o A contamination assessment report documenting USTEC's Field procedures, ;
observations, analytical results, conclusions, and recommendations.
2.4 SITE CHRONOLOGY
} The following information was collected from various records maintained by CCE-W and
USTEC. This information is presented to establish the chronology of the project.
j
t_
< 4/4/90
CCE-W abandoned the facility at 1100 Wilson Way in Stockton, California.
6:
4/19/90
One 10,000-gallon diesel UST and one 1,000-gallon gasoline UST were excavated by Crisp
Construction Co., Visalia, California, under the supervision of Quinn and Quinn Enterprises,
i
Inc., also of Visalia. Environmental support and removal documentation was provided by
USTEC. USTEC's preliminary, Underground Storage Tank Investigation Report indicated that
diesel and gasoline concentrations in the 1,OW-gallon gasoline UST excavation were above a
,,,,; level whidi—would require-further-assessment-and/or remediation..— . ------ ---- ---,----
a
3
y
