L7' 9
1
Coca-Cola Enterprises - West
Job No. 90054
5.0 ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY RESULTS
Analytical chemistry results are summarized on Tables 4 and 5. Certificates of analysis are
presented in Appendix F.
,Y.
5.1 SOIL ANALYTICAL TEST RESULTS
The analytical chemistry results for soil samples collected during the field assessment are
summarized in Table 4 and are illustrated on Figures 5, 6, 7 and 8. The soil analytical results
^' for TPH, gasoline, and diesel and for Iead are reported in mg/kg (milligrams per kilogram)
which is equivalent to parts per million (ppm). Soil analytical results for BTEX and for PNAs
_. are reported in ug/kg (micrograms per kilogram) which is equivalent to parts per billion (ppb).
Total petroleum hydrocarbon CTPH) concentrations as gasoiine.in the soil ranged from non-
detect in borings B-2, B-4 and B-6 through B-13 to 8,900 ppm in boring B-5 The TPH gasoline
appeared to be centered around the former gasoline tank area as defined by borings B-1, B-3
E" and M. Significant TPH concentrations appeared to be limited to the upper 25 feet of soil.
Below a'depth of 25 feet the only TPH gasoline concentrations above laboratory detection limits
-, were in P-3 at 40 feet; B-3 at 55 feet, and B-13 at 70 feet, which were reported as 1.2 ppm,2.5
ppm;and 1.1 ppm, respectively.
S
Les
Total petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations as diesel were also found to be present at the site.
Diesel TPH concentrations ranged from non-detect to 20,000 ppm in boring B-5.' The diesel
TPH concentrations follow a pattern similar to the gasoline TPH concentrations with the highest
concentrations in the upper 25 feet. Analytical results above 100 ppm were detected in soil
y samples collected in borings B-1 (260 ppm at 10 feet, 1,100 ppm at 15 feet), 13-3 (610 ppm at 5
feet) and B-5 (20,000 ppm a20 feet}. All other values reported were below 100 ppm TPH
diesel in soil.
PNA'concentrations also follow the TPH pattern with all concentrations reported at'below:
laboratory detection limits e!S t boring B-1 at 10 and 15 feet,boring B3 at 5 feet, and boring
12
