Coca-Cola Enterprises - West
Job No. 90054
contamination is limited to the former gasoline UST location. The contaminated area is centered
r— around boring B-1 and radiates out from B-1 about 15 feet to encompass B-2 through B-5. Total
petroleum hydrocarbons above 100 ppm were found to be present in this location at depths
down to 25 feet.
7.3 DISTRIBUTION OF DISSOLVED HYDROCARBONS IN GROUNDWATER
The distribution of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons in the groundwater at the site is
illustrated on Figure 9. As indicated in the figure, TPH as gasoline was found only in
groundwater monitoring well MW-1. Ber►zene was found to be present in groundwater
monitoring wells MW-1 and MW-3 at concentrations below the recommended clean-up action
limit of 0.7 ppb and was not detected in MW-1, MW-4 and MW-5.
Diesel constituents were found to be present in low levels in the groundwater from monitoring
wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4, and MW-a. The full extent of diesel contamination has not been
F evaluated at the present time. USTEC believes that most of the contaminant plume is on-site,
however, at least one downgradient groundwater monitoring well will be required to evaluate
the full extent of the diesel contamination plume.
b s
z
8.0 INITIAL SOILS REMEDIATION
w
Soil certificates of analysis from the drilling operations were submitted to San Joaquin County
Air Pollution Control District where a determination was granted for uncontrolled aeration.
The aeration permits are included in Appendix C and are contingent upon the incineration of
drums containing soil from the upper 20 feet from Borings B-1,B-2,and B-5. These drums will
be transported to Ogden Environmental Services, Stockton, California, and incinerated.
7.
Documentation of the incineration will be presented in the Remedial Action Plan (RAP).
9.0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
- f
U.S. Technical Environmental Consulting, Inc. has prepared this Contamination Assessment
Report (CAR) for the abandoned Coca-Cola Enterprises - West distribution center located at
17
