The hand-driven <br /> sampler containing the brass retainer was then driven into the bucket of native soil. The <br /> sampler was withdrawn from the bucket and the brass retainer removed. The ends of the <br /> brass sample retainer were wrapped with TeflonO, sealed, taped, labeled, placed on ice and <br /> delivered to Analytical Technologies, Inc. (ATI) in 'Tempe, Arizona. Chain-okustody records <br /> were maintained and accompanied the transfer of the samples from the US71EC representative <br /> to laboratory personnel. Chain-of-custody documentation is presented in Appendix S. <br /> The hand driven sampler and brass retainers were thoroughly decontaminated before entering <br /> the site and again between each sample to prevent possible cross contamination. <br /> Decontamination procedures included an Alconox detergent wash, followed by two tap water <br /> rinses and a Final rinse of distilled water. <br /> 5.0 ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY PROCEDURES <br /> — All soil samples were submitted to All, and were analyzed in accordance with U.S. <br /> Environmental Agency Publication SW-W 'Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste". ATI is <br /> a California State Certified Laboratory. Soil samples collected from beneath the 10,000-gallon <br /> diesel UST were analyzed in accordance with EPA method 80I5 modified for diesel. Analyses <br /> of soil samples collected from beneath the 1,000-gallon gasoline tank were in accordance with <br /> FFA method 8015 modified for gasolina All samples were analyzed for the aromatic <br /> hydrocarbons;benzene,toluene,ethylbenzene,and total xylenes (BTEX) in accordance with EPA <br /> method 8020. <br /> 4 <br />
