Coca-Cola Enterprises - West
Job No. 90054
No established cleanup action levels for soils presently exist in California. Conversations with
Mr.Charles Hunt,San Joaquin County Health Services, indicated that TPH concentrations above
100 ppm would requite assessment and remediation. The amount of assessment and
remediation required for 7PH concentrations below 100 pprn would be reviewed on a case by
case basis.
Groundwater is estimated to be at 40 feet based on the map on dispLsy at the San Joaquin
County Department of Health Services,
8.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on field observations and analytical chemistry test results, U.S. Technical Environmental
Consulting, Inc. recommends the following actions:
. U Since the diesel and gasoline concentrations in the 1 re
excavation exceed the level at which assessment and remmediationaswould be
7 required,a contaminant as_-Sessment should be initiated to assess the vertical and
lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil and groundwater. A work
Plan should be submitted to and approved by the proper regulatory agency prior
to initiating any assessment.
o Since only a diesel concentration of 32 ppm was reported in the diesel UST
excavation and that no gasoline or 13TEX compounds were detected, USTEC
recommends that the diesel UST excavation be reviewed for
possible closure.
The Sacs Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
shoWd be provided with a copy of this preliminary report. The report can b
forwarded to:
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
] nvironmental Health Division
Attn: Charles Hunt
1601 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
6
