Fust Quarter 1993 Monitoring Report
Coca-Cola Enterprises- West
Project No 54006 02
' Page 3
' (TPHD), and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) utilizing EPA methods
5030/801518020
tGroundwater well purge and sample logs are provided in Appendix A
' UNRECORDED FACILITY WELL
' RESNA was notified of an unrecorded facility well inside a building on the site by Mr. Patrick
Green, the current lessee of the property. During an initial investigation, the well was found
to have an eight inch diameter steel casing with a depth to water at 74 46 feet and a total depth
of 89 34 feet below surface grade. The well location is shown on Plate 2 RESNA proposes
to destroy the well by backfilling it with a pressurized, tremied mixture of neat cement and
bentonite grout leaving the casing in place As a prerequisite to approval of the destruction
' method, Michael Collins of SJCPHS verbally requested on March 8, 1993, that the well be
sampled and analyzed for the same constituents as the monitoring wells. RESNA received a
copy of the March 16, 1993 correspondence from Laurie Cotulla of SJCPHS to Coca-Cola
requesting that the facility well be sampled for TPHG, TPHD, BTEX and total lead Jeanne
Homsey of RESNA contacted Michael Collins of SJCPHS on March 17, 1993 and told him that
the sample collected from the well was analyzed for TPHG, TPHD, and BTEX and not analyzed
' for total lead per our agreement dated November 24, 1992 Mr Collins stated that this was not
a problem and he would note this in the file.
' On March 11, 1993, the depth to water was measured at 71.90 feet in the well. The depth to
bottom was measured at 89 30 feet A groundwater sample was collected by the method
described above No evidence of measurable floating product or hydrocarbon vapor was noted
' in the water sample The sample was submitted with Chain of Custody Record to RESNA
Analytical Laboratories, and analyzed for TPHG, TPHD, and BTEX utilizing EPA methods
' 5030/801518020
Groundwater well purge and sample logs are provided in Appendix A
RESULTS OF LABORATORY ANALYSES
' Water samples collected from wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-6, and the facility well were analyzed
for TPHG, TPHD, and BTEX using modified EPA methods 5030/8015/8020 These results and
cumulative results of laboratory analyses are summarized in Table 1. The Chain of Custody
Record and laboratory analytical reports are included in Appendix B
' tQMRt"3 FNL
I
