RZAMA <br /> Working To Restore Nature <br /> 1710 Main Street REC <br /> Escalon, CA 95320 '_3Yt <br /> Phone (209) 838-3507 FEB 1 1993 <br /> FAX (209) 838-3509 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH January 27, 1993 <br /> PERMIT/SERVICES 5400602 <br /> Mr Michael Collins <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Service <br /> P O Box 2009 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Subject Destruction of Unrecorded Facility Well at Coca-Cola Former Distribution <br /> Facility, 1100 North Wilson Way, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Collins <br /> At the request of Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc of Atlanta, Georgia and Coca-Cola Enterprises - <br /> West of San Leandro, California (Coca-Cola), RESNA Industries, Inc (RESNA) is proposing <br /> to destroy an unrecorded facility well recently discovered at the subject site Prior to the fourth <br /> quarter 1992 groundwater monitoring, Mr Patrick Green of American Performance, the current <br /> lessee of the property, notified RESNA of an additional well on the property that was not shown <br /> on any plans for the site All recorded groundwater monitoring and vapor extraction wells at <br /> the site have been positively identified and neither Coca-Cola nor San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services - Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS-EHD) have records on this well <br /> The location of this unrecorded facility well is shown on Plate 1 <br /> i <br /> On December 17, 1992, RESNA was on-site to perform quarterly groundwater monitoring and <br /> conducted an investigation of the well RESNA located the well inside the building in the <br /> facility restroom The well was constructed of eight-inch diameter steel casing The casing was <br /> surrounded by a one-foot square concrete berm raised two and one half inches precluding it from <br /> being used as a floor drain, and a inetal lid was set beside the casing No odor was detected <br /> coming from the well The depth to bottom was measured at 89 34 feet below surface grade <br /> (bsg) and the depth to water was measured at 74 46 tect bsg <br /> RESNA proposes to destroy the well and leave the casing in place because of its location inside <br /> the building It would be impossible to drill out the casing due to space limitations The casing <br /> and sand pack do not pose a threat as a potential concluit for contaminant inigration because the <br />�l <br /> RI'POR7Sli R012693 DRf <br />
