The Letter is
in response to Regional Board's 30 December 2003 letter, which requested technical information
regarding the demolition/dismantling activities at South Shore Parcel 2A. The Letter states that the
Stockton RDA"has already completed an exhaustive search of its records for any documents concerning
the subject properties."
It is troubling that the Stockton RDA has no manifests or other records to show the work completed at
the site, but this information is crucial to site investigative and cleanup activities. Therefore, by
19 March 2004, please submit a work plan to conduct investigative work to include, but not be limited
to, sampling to determine whether tank bottoms were removed, the type of imported fill material used,
and whether product lines were properly abandoned. Based on the results of the investigative activities,
the Stockton RDA should provide information on the location of any remaining tank bottoms and
pipelines and resulting concentrations of petroleum constituents. If you have any questions, you may
contact meat (916) 464-4719 or lewisd@rb5s.swrcb.ca.gov.
&L
DEVRA LEWIS
Environmental Scientist
cc: Mr. Jerry Lile, Department of Toxic Substances Control, Sacramento
Mr. Jeffrey Wong, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Stockton
Mr. Robert Cochran, Chevron Environmental Management Company, San Ramon
Mr. Tracy Sizemore, ConocoPhillips, Tempe, AZ
Mr. Robert Goodman, Law Office of Robert C.
