Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize <br />the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten <br />human health or the environment. Immediately clean and remove the saturated absorbent, and manage according to <br />Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste <br />was managed. This was corrected on site. <br />This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br />601 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br />Observed a 55 -gallon drum of used oil marked with the accumulation start date 7/16/13. Facilities who generate less <br />than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste stored on site at any time may store <br />waste on site up to 180 days. Immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under <br />manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD. <br />This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br />605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or tanks of hazardous waste. <br />Observed the following at the hazardous waste area: <br />a. One 55 -gallon drum of used absorbent not marked with the accumulation start date <br />b. One 55 -gallon drum of waste gas and oil mixed not marked with the accumulation start date <br />All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br />- the words "Hazardous Waste" <br />- name and address of generator <br />- hazardous properties <br />- physical state <br />- composition (contents) <br />- accumulation start date <br />Immediately label these containers and ensure that all containers are marked with all the required information. Since <br />it cannot be determined how long the 55 -gallon drum of used absorbent and the 55 -gallon drum of waste gas and oil <br />have been on site, immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest <br />and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD. <br />This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />
