EMERGENCY STUDENT RELEASE <br />Emergency Student release is the release of students to their parent/guardian during the school day or <br />during a district sponsored activi1y. Emergency Student Release will only occur when and where <br />authorized by the Superintendent or his designee. <br />Office staff will call for students to be sent to the designated pick up area <br />• Students will only be released to a parent/guardian at the pick up area <br />• Students will only be released to a parent/guardian designated on the emergency card <br />• Students will only be released after a Student Release Form is signed by parent/guardian <br />classroom phone is the secondary form of technology): <br />• Students unaccounted for • Your location other than your own classroom <br />6. Check e-mail for directions and listen for directions given on the PA system. <br />7. Disregard the bells. Disregard the fire alarm unless you observe indications of fire. <br />8. Do not allow anyone to leave the room or campus until given the "all clear." <br />PREPARATION & PRACTICE <br />Discuss with students what events might cause the school to have a Lock Down. <br />• Unsafe person on campus <br />• Police action in the neighborhood <br />Discuss with students the characteristics of an effective Lock Down drill. <br />• Students listen to their teacher or yard supervision immediately <br />• Students follow directions quickly and quietly <br />• Students move quickly, helping each other by not pushing <br />Discuss with students what could happen if they don't practice how to Lock Down. <br />• People might panic <br />• People might not know where to go <br />• People could get hurt <br />LOCK DOWN <br />
