• number and type of injuries, <br />• equipment involved, <br />• threat to public safety or the environment, and <br />• potential for fire or explosion. <br />Once spill has been reported, the employee should then implement the following: <br />Control the spill and stop the flow, if safe to do so. <br />Contain the spill utilizing absorbent or earthen berms. <br />The Operations Manager/Emergency Response Manager will determine if spill is a Level <br />I or a Level II incident and coordinate the cleanup and disposal of contaminated materials <br />per state and federal regulations. The operations manager will make the necessary <br />notifications to applicable agencies. <br />Under no circumstances should employees risk death or serious injury in order to protect <br />Vintage property or operations. Personnel responding to spills will adhere to the <br />following priorities: <br />• safety and health of the public and Vintage personnel including contractors, <br />• protection of the environment, <br />• protection of property, and <br />• restoration of operations. <br />-� a <br />Chapter 6.95, Section 25507, of the California Health & Safety Code requires the <br />reporting of a release or threatened release of hazardous materials. A hazardous material <br />includes any material that because of its quantity, concentration, or physical or chemical <br />characteristics poses a significant present or potential hazard to human health and safety <br />or to the environment if released. There is no minimum reportable quantity established <br />for a release.
