• No return address <br />• <br />Protruding w' <br />• Restrictive markings <br />• <br />Lopsided or ven <br />• Excessive postage <br />• <br />Excessive weight <br />• Mailed from a foreign country <br />• <br />Rigid or bulky <br />• Misspelled words, badly typed or written <br />• <br />Oily stains <br />• Addressed to a title only (i.e., manager) <br />• <br />Discoloration <br />• Addressed to incorrect title <br />• <br />Crystallization on wrapper <br />• Wrong title with name <br />• <br />Excessive tape or string <br />During an Event <br />Suspicious Letter / Package is Discovered / Opened <br />• Call 911 <br />• Do not touch, move, open, smell or taste the suspicious letter or package <br />• Stay calm <br />• Isolate the suspicious item <br />• Avoid any extra contact with the suspicious package <br />• Do not wave the item in the air or ask others to look at it <br />• Barricade the immediate area to prevent people from entering <br />• Do not leave the area until Law Enforcement arrives <br />• If possible, wash your hands and other exposed skin with soap and water <br />• Seek medical attention for persons that have been exposed <br />• Assist Law Enforcement by providing a list all of the people who were in the room or area <br />when the suspicious letter or package was discovered <br />• Follow instructions of Law Enforcement / Emergency Services <br />• Emergency Services / Law Enforcement will determine on whether or not the package is <br />dangerous <br />• Contact the District Manager and Loss Prevention District Manager <br />• If their has been damage/contamination to the facility, contact the District Facilities Manager <br />• Comply with directives issued by authorized emergency agencies (police, fire, civil defense, <br />health department, etc.) <br />After an Event <br />• Always follow instructions issued by Law Enforcement / Emergency Services <br />• Refer to the EAP Procedures/Post Event Section for additional assistance <br />• Give first aid where appropriate <br />Note: Never delay in contacting emergency services for assistance if an obvious emergency <br />situation exists (i.e., an associate or customer reports difficulty breathing, skin or throat <br />irritation). <br />Before an Event <br />Guidelines for the Identification of Susaicious Substances <br />• Any substance or unidentified material found in unusual locations <br />U <br />
