Containers that have poAger, unknown substances or liquids thatase spilling or leaking out. <br />• Unusual container, of u ual weight given its size, is lopsided or dly shaped. <br />• Container with oily stains, discolorations or strange odors. <br />• Containers marked with a threatening message <br />• Containers labeled "Anthrax", "Bacillus Anthracis", "Ricin" or other dangerous compound. <br />• Any received a threat through communication by telephone, written or verbal. <br />During an Event <br />Suspicious Substance is Discovered / Opened <br />• Call 911 <br />• Do not touch, move, open, smell or taste the suspicious substance <br />• Stay calm <br />• Isolate the suspicious item <br />• Do not attempt to clean up the substance <br />• Do not wave the item in the air or ask others to look at it <br />• Barricade the immediate area to prevent people from entering <br />• Seek medical attention for persons that have been exposed <br />• Follow instructions of Law Enforcement / Emergency Services <br />• Response and decontamination will be conducted by EMS <br />• Notify District Manager <br />• Notify District Facilities Manager <br />• Notify Loss Prevention District Manager <br />Suspicious Substance Released into the Air <br />• Move away from the area where the substance was released <br />• If possible, close doorways to isolate the area where the substance was released <br />• If possible, turn off local fans or ventilation units in the area <br />• Barricade the immediate area to prevent people from entering <br />• Seek medical attention for persons that have been exposed <br />• Follow instructions of Law Enforcement / Emergency Services <br />• Response and decontamination will be conducted by EMS <br />After an Event <br />• Always follow instructions issued by Law Enforcement / Emergency Services <br />• Refer to the EAP Procedures/Post Event Section for additional assistance <br />• Give first aid where appropriate <br />C <br />Note: Never delay in contacting emergency services for assistance if an obvious emergency <br />situation exists (i.e., an associate or customer reports difficulty breathing, skin or throat <br />irritation). <br />.2 <br />Before an Event <br />Management must follow the procedures listed in the Robbery Prevention & De -Escalation Guide <br />(located on the intranet) to minimize the threat of robbery. <br />19 <br />
