0 0 <br /> WASTEWATER TREATMENT <br /> START-UP & SHUTDOWN PROCEDURES <br /> SYSTEM START UP PROCEDURES <br /> 1. Read/review previous shift's Operation Log and Wastewater Treatment <br /> Status Log. <br /> 2. Check for alarm conditions on main wastewater control panel. Clear and <br /> reset if necessary. <br /> 3. Check calibration of Sigma pH probe (see Sigma Calibration Procedure). <br /> 4. Begin start-up checklist in the Wastewater Treatment Status Log. <br /> 5. Visually check wastewater sumps for liquid level conditions. Activate <br /> sump pumps manually, if necessary, to transfer liquid solution to the <br /> designated process hold tanks. <br /> 6. Check liquid levels in all chemical feed drums. Change drums as <br /> necessary. <br /> 7. To start the Wastewater System: <br /> a. All switches that are on the Wastewater Control Panel, that are <br /> necessary to run the Wastewater Treatment System are numbered <br /> in black. <br /> b. There are six switches on the Wastewater Control Panel that <br /> always run in Auto Mode, for recirculation and level control. <br /> i. #2 Concentrate Hold Tank Transfer Pumps-Recirculation <br /> ii. #3 Permeate Collection Sump Pumps-Level Control <br /> iii. #8 Rinse Collection Sump Pumps-Level Control <br /> iv. #10 Dry Pit Sump Pump-Level Control <br /> v. #15 Permeate Rinse Hold Tank Transfer Pump- <br /> Recirculation <br /> vi. #22 Rinse Hold Tank Transfer Pumps-Recirculation <br /> c. Turn the following switches to Auto position: <br /> i. 2, 3, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 27 <br /> d. Turn the following switches to On position: <br /> i. 4, 5, 18 <br /> e. After these switches are turned to their appropriate position, turn <br /> the Chemical Master Switch to the On position. The Chemical <br /> Master Switch turns the power on to the following switches: <br /> i. 13, 14, 18, 21, 27 <br /> f. Open discharge valves to the following tanks: <br /> i. Concentrate Hold Tanks <br /> ii. Rinse Collection Tanks <br /> iii. Permeate Rinse Collection Tank (if necessary) <br /> g. Complete Waste Water Treatment Start-up Status Check List. <br /> NTC 19a Wastewater Treament Start-up Shutdown Procedures 1-21-05 <br />
