WASTE WATER FILTER CAKE PRESS PACIFIC PRESS PAC 630 SERIES CLOSING THE PRESS o Turn Air Supply Knob(left switch) to"ON"position. o Turn Selector Knob(middle switch) to"Close"position. a The follower will close slowly. Once the follower has pushed all the filter plates against the head, the hydraulic pump will start cycling slower until it comes to a stop. o Turn the Air Blowdown/Fluid Pump Knob(right switch)to"Fluid Pump"position FILTRATION CYCLE o Open all valves, except the"Blowdown Air Line Valve." o Start the Yamada Diaphragm Pump. o Start the air pressure and slowly increase it to 25 psi. Once the diaphragm pump strokes have slowed to only a few times per minute,it is necessary to increase pump pressure. Increase the air pressure to 50 psi. The filter cycle is complete when a pressure of 100 psi is reached and the air diaphragm pump strokes less than four times per minute. AIR BLOWDOWN o Close all valves to the press. o Open the lower left "Air Blowdown Manifest Valve." o Slowly open the"Blowdown Air Line Valve"to at least 3040 psi. o The air is to be left on for approximately 30 minutes to aid in drying the filter cake. CAKE DISCHARGE o Turn off the`Blowdown Air Line Valve." a Turn the Selector Knob to"OPEN"position. o The follower will slowly open and allow access to the inside of the plates. a Pull apart each filter plate,one at a time. o Use a plastic spatula to separate the filter cake from the filter plate. o Filter cake will fall through the chute and into a cardboard bin.
