TO: Fred Vallar, Exxon Service Station
FROM: Pam Violett, San Joaquin County Environmental Health
DATE: August 3, 1992
RE: Monitoring requirements for Underground Storage Tanks
(UST's)
I am returning your inventory reconciliation sheets for the first
quarter of 1992. Due to a change in the UST regulations there is
a new reporting format for the monitoring of your UST's. Please
find enclosed the following new forms:
1) Tank Performance Standards - discussing the type of monitoring
you are currently using for your tanks.
2) Piping Performance Standards - indicating the current method
of monitoring being utilized for the piping.
3) Daily Inventory Reconciliation Log - this new form should be
used instead of the previous one. Please note the new
allowable variation. Keep these forms on site for review
during routine inspections.
4) Annual Summary Report - this form should now be used in lieu
of the quarterly report form. You may begin the 12 month
reporting period as soon as you receive this form. Please DO
NOT send Inventory Reconciliation sheets to this office.
Instead, send this annual report addressing any variations
occuring in the 12 month period.
5) Weekly Manual Tank Gauging Log - this form should be used with
your waste oil tank instead of the current form being used.
6) Instructions for procedures when the monthly allowable
variation is exceeded. To be utilized in conjuction with
Inventory Reconciliation and Tank Gauging.
These forms are your originals. Please make copies of the ones to
be used continuously.
