UST Removal Work Plan <br /> 7-Eleven Store No. 20632,Stockton,CA May 12, 1998 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This work plan summarizes underground storage tank (UST) removal activities at <br /> Southland 7-Eleven Store No. 20632 located at 4627 Da Vinci Drive in Stockton, <br /> California. The purpose of this work is to evaluate whether the USTs, associated <br /> equipment, lines and dispensers on-site have adversely impacted soil underlying the site <br /> as required by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD). <br /> 2.0 LOCATION & DESCRIPTION <br /> The Southland Store is located on the west side of Da Vinci Drive in Oroville, California. <br /> One UST system is currently being used at the facility, consisting of three (3) 10,000- <br /> gallon gasoline USTs and three (3) dispensers. <br /> 3.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Maness will perform the following scope of work per SJCEHD requirements on UST <br /> removal activities to accomplish the project objectives: <br /> • Obtain all necessary permits. <br /> • Arrange scheduling with appropriate inspectors. <br /> • Vacuum out any residual gasoline product. <br /> • Inert USTs (3 — 10,000-gallon gasoline) by placing minimum of 15 lbs dry ice per <br /> 1,000-gallon capacity (approximately 450 lbs). <br /> • Measure 02 (<_ 10%) and LEL (<_20%) levels in presence of SJCEHD Inspector. <br /> • Upon approval from SJCEHD Inspector, begin breaking out and removing <br /> pavement. <br /> • Excavate overburden soil and the sides of the USTs in such a way as to ensure <br /> maximum excavation safety. All piping connections and dispensers will be <br /> identified and carefully removed. <br /> • Cut access holes in USTs with pneumatic cold cutting tool. <br /> • Triple rinse USTs, and remove rinseate. Rinseate to be properly manifested and <br /> transported for disposal. <br /> • Remove USTs using a hydraulic crane. Place USTs on flatbed trucks. <br /> • Ecology Control Industries (ECI) to transport USTs as hazardous to ECI's facility <br /> in the Richmond for proper destruction. UST manifest to be provided. <br /> • Soil samples to be collected by Fluor Daniel GTI representative as directed by <br /> SJCEHD Inspector(see Fluor Daniel GTI Work Plan). <br /> • Soil samples to be analyzed for gasoline constituents as required by SJCEHD <br /> Inspector(see Fluor Daniel GTI Work Plan). <br /> 1 <br />
