E 16.1.2. When watertight systems are used, that space must be vented to atmosphere, above the groundwater level. AWARNING • Use air -powered tools to prevent shock, tire or explosion from flammable liquids and vapors. • Do not pressurize the ACR assembly after installation is completed. • The ACR system is an enclosed space. Hazardous fumes may be present, so precautions should be taken to property vent the space. Failure to follow this warning could result in death, serious personal injury or property damage. ACAUTION • Each adhesive/sealant step must be allowed to set sufficiently before attempting any further assembly work or testing. • Make sure that no heavy objects are allowed to distort the riser top after final assembly. This includes the street box and concrete slab. No weight should be transferred to the tank. • Maintain good drainage of water away from the access opening of the riser top. • Choose a stnaet-box size that allows sufficient clearance around the outside of the top opening of the riser top. • Do not drop the ACR assembly components or allow the riser body to roll • High winds could damage the ACR components Protect and secure all pieces should windy conditions arise. Failure to follow this caution may result in personal injury or property damage. 16.2. PREINSTALLATION 16.2.1. Visually inspect all pieces and parts for any shipping damage. If any components are missing, contact the UST coor- dinator at the Xerxes plant nearest you. (See FIGURE 16-1 or FIGURE 16-2.) If conditions may cause groundwater to rise above the ACR top, use an ACR -WT (watertight) riser top and cover. (See FIGURE 16-2.) The joint between the collar and the riser body (also the top joint when a watertight system is used) shall be sealed by the contractor. Use only that material supplied by Xerxes. 16.2.4. Do not attempt any repairs to damaged ACR compo- nents. If damage is detected, contact the UST coordinator at the Xerxes plant nearest you. 16.3. PREPARING THE COLLAR AND RISER BODY 16-3.1.
