Failure to do so could
result in death, senous personal injury or property damage.
16.3.4. Cut the riser body to length and prepare for sealing. If
the riser needs to be trimmed, use a carbide -tipped blade or
masonry saw.
16.3.5. Sand the areas to be joined, removing all glossy finish.
All sanded areas should be a uniform shade of white.
16.3.6. Sand the inside surface of the riser at the matching point
where the riser body meets the collar (3600), 3 inches up inside
the riser body. (See FIGURE 16-4, Area A.)
16.3.7. Sand the outside surface of the collar lip (3600). (See
FIGURE 164, Area B.)
IQ
A
I
3"
Sand
B
NKT
16.3.8. Sand the outside edge of the riser top when using ACR -
WT (3600). (See FIGURE 16-5, Area C.)
16.3.9. Sand the inside surface of the channel at the top of the
riser body (3600). When using the ACR -WT, the riser top sets
into this channel. (See FIGURE 16-5, Area D.)
22
L
Sand
777
FIGURE 16-5
16.3.10. Wipe the sanded surfaces clean with a clean, dry cloth
before applying adhesive/sealants. Do not use oil-based
solvents or water to clean surfaces.
16.3.11. Position the riser assembly on the collar to verify fit and
elevation.
16.3.12. Remove the riser assembly and temporarily store it in a
location where the sanded areas are protected from dirt, grease
and other contaminants.
16.4. SEALING AND ASSEMBLY
16.4.1. Seal and assemble the riser assembly on the collar
according to the instructions included in the adhesive/sealant
package shipped with the riser assembly.
16.4.2. Follow the safety and precaution instructions for
preparation and cure times included in the adhesive/sealant
package.
• Do not bump or move the riser or perform piping
attachments before the adhesive/sealant has set
sufficiently.
• Any movement of the riser body before adhesive sets
may cause seal failure.
• Do not air -pressure test an ACR -WT as this may cause
personal injury or property damage.
16.5 HYDROSTATIC WATER TEST
16.5.1. GENERAL
16.5.1.1. Test the entire assembly with water after allowing
setup time required in adhesive/sealant instructions.
16.5.1.2. Plug any piping penetrations found in the riser body.
