N M-111 N The FE Petro STP -MLD Mechanical Line Leak Detector combines streamline design, quality materials, solid construction, and unique features to offer you unmatched performance and maintenance free reliability. The STP -MLD is engineered and built to maintain its performance accuracy for years of operation. It will reliably maintain its ability to detect true leaks without any false indication of leaks. MM MINI The STP -MLD is a proven performer with extensive laboratory and field testing. It complies with U.S. EPA requirements 280.41(B) and 280.44(A) for automatic leak detection in pressurized pump- ing systems. It is third party certified for performance as required by the EPA.* The MLD is UL listed for all blends of flammable motor fuels including gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuels and gasoline—alcohol blends with alcohol concentrations from I 0 to 100% ethanol or methanol, 15% MTBE with 85% gasoline or 17% TAME and 83% gasoline. This unit will continuously monitor pressurized pumping and will indicate any size leak. Leaks greater than 3 gallons per hour (GPH) are indicated by greatly reduced output from the pump of approximately 2 gallons per minute (GPM). Leaks less than 3 GPH are indicated by the leak detector taking longer than the normal 3 seconds to open** The smaller the leak the nearer to 3 seconds opening time, as the leak gets nearer to 3 GPH, the time increases until at 3 GPH the leak detector will never open. It will detect leaks even when there is as much as 10 feet difference in elevation between the point of the leak and the leak detector. 1111ill'In O'I'l"llily The use of brass piston provides a rugged, non -corrosive, strong material which will not deflect under pressure. This drastically reduces the potential for leakage past the piston seal or separations of the piston from the shaft. All dynamic sealing surfaces are made of Teflon on brass or stainless to minimize corrosion and wear, and are resistant to damage from abrasives in the fuel. There is no plating or coating that will peel or wear through. Unique FenOires The MLD stays open when pumping for maximum product delivery to line pressure as low as 1 psi. There is never the concern that the leak detector will close when several nozzles are open at the same time. Unique internal design maintains leak sensitivity and minimizes opening time variation with vapor in the pipelines and changes in the fuel temperature. The piston style design provides a reser- voir of fluid to compensate for thermal contraction of the product, reducing the likeli- hood of leak detector trips when the temperature of the product is higher than the temperature of the piping and surrounding area. Easy Inst.aRntion Streamline design allows easy access with socket or pipe wrench and high strength socket head cap screw material will withstand any torque required for assembly or removal. A vertical vent tube exit enables easier and more direct tube connection. The MLD is UL listed for installation directly into all FE Petro STP Model submersible pumps; Red Jacket Model P33R 1, P75S 1, P I 50SI, AGP33R1, AGP75S1, and AGP150S1 pumps, or11)kheim Model 585A-34 and 585A-150 pumps. Auxiliary housing is not necessary when installing the MLD into any of these model pumps. When installed in a Red Jacket pump, it is not necessary to remove the leak detector when replacing the capacitor, providing a safer work environment. *W6ii flexible piping is installed, use STP -MLD -E. **Avoid longer opening times when pumping diesel or kerosene by using STP -MLD -D.
