N <br />M-111 <br />N <br />The FE Petro STP -MLD <br />Mechanical Line Leak Detector <br />combines streamline design, <br />quality materials, solid <br />construction, and unique <br />features to offer you unmatched <br />performance and maintenance <br />free reliability. <br />The STP -MLD is engineered <br />and built to maintain its <br />performance accuracy for years <br />of operation. It will reliably <br />maintain its ability to detect <br />true leaks without any false <br />indication of leaks. <br />MM MINI <br />The STP -MLD is a proven <br />performer with extensive <br />laboratory and field testing. <br />It complies with U.S. EPA <br />requirements 280.41(B) and <br />280.44(A) for automatic leak <br />detection in pressurized pump- <br />ing systems. It is third party <br />certified for performance as <br />required by the EPA.* <br />The MLD is UL listed for <br />all blends of flammable motor <br />fuels including gasoline, <br />kerosene, diesel fuels and <br />gasoline—alcohol blends with <br />alcohol concentrations from I <br />0 to 100% ethanol or methanol, <br />15% MTBE with 85% gasoline <br />or 17% TAME and 83% gasoline. <br />This unit will continuously <br />monitor pressurized pumping <br />and will indicate any size leak. <br />Leaks greater than 3 gallons <br />per hour (GPH) are indicated <br />by greatly reduced output from <br />the pump of approximately 2 <br />gallons per minute (GPM). <br />Leaks less than 3 GPH are <br />indicated by the leak detector <br />taking longer than the normal <br />3 seconds to open** The smaller <br />the leak the nearer to 3 seconds <br />opening time, as the leak gets <br />nearer to 3 GPH, the time <br />increases until at 3 GPH the <br />leak detector will never open. <br />It will detect leaks even when <br />there is as much as 10 feet <br />difference in elevation between <br />the point of the leak and the <br />leak detector. <br />1111ill'In O'I'l"llily <br />The use of brass piston <br />provides a rugged, non -corrosive, <br />strong material which will not <br />deflect under pressure. This <br />drastically reduces the <br />potential for leakage <br />past the piston <br />seal or <br />separations <br />of the piston <br />from the shaft. <br />All dynamic <br />sealing surfaces <br />are made of <br />Teflon on brass <br />or stainless to minimize <br />corrosion and wear, and are <br />resistant to damage from <br />abrasives in the fuel. There is <br />no plating or coating that will <br />peel or wear through. <br />Unique FenOires <br />The MLD stays open when <br />pumping for maximum product <br />delivery to line pressure as low <br />as 1 psi. There is never the <br />concern that the leak detector <br />will close when several nozzles <br />are open at the same time. <br />Unique internal design <br />maintains leak sensitivity <br />and minimizes opening time <br />variation with vapor in the <br />pipelines and changes in the <br />fuel temperature. The piston <br />style design provides a reser- <br />voir of fluid to compensate <br />for thermal contraction of the <br />product, reducing the likeli- <br />hood of leak detector trips <br />when the temperature of the <br />product is higher than the <br />temperature of the piping <br />and surrounding area. <br />Easy Inst.aRntion <br />Streamline design allows <br />easy access with socket or <br />pipe wrench and high <br />strength socket head <br />cap screw material <br />will withstand any <br />torque required for <br />assembly or removal. <br />A vertical vent tube <br />exit enables easier <br />and more direct <br />tube connection. The <br />MLD is UL listed <br />for installation <br />directly into all <br />FE Petro STP Model <br />submersible pumps; <br />Red Jacket Model <br />P33R 1, P75S 1, P I 50SI, <br />AGP33R1, AGP75S1, and <br />AGP150S1 pumps, or11)kheim <br />Model 585A-34 and 585A-150 <br />pumps. Auxiliary housing is <br />not necessary when installing <br />the MLD into any of these <br />model pumps. <br />When installed in a Red <br />Jacket pump, it is not necessary <br />to remove the leak detector <br />when replacing the capacitor, <br />providing a safer work <br />environment. <br />*W6ii flexible piping is installed, use STP -MLD -E. <br />**Avoid longer opening times when pumping diesel or kerosene by using <br />STP -MLD -D. <br />
