A. Each tank, product line, and dispenser pan is monitored continuously by probes within the brine reservoir, turbine sump, and dispenser pan, respectively. 8. The Gilbarco EMC 3.1 tank and line monitoring system is manufactured by Veeder- R.00t. Leak conditions trigger visual and audible alarms located in the monitoring system control panel. Turbine shutdown will occur if either power is lost to the control panel or if the turbine sump or dispenser pan probes sense leak conditions. C. The monitor control panel is located in the market storeroom. The monitor is placed in test mode daily to check alarm function. Results are recorded on a "Daily Monitoring System Inspection Log" D. Monitoring is the responsibility of Sital & Kuljit Gall, Franchisees, or their designated duty clerk. Maintenance of the monitoring equipment is the responsibility of Quik Stop Markets, Inc. All repairs will be authorized by Mike Karvelot, Director of Environmental .Affairs. E. If an alarm occurs, the Store Manager will immediately contact the Quik Stop Gasoline Department, which will in turn dispatch a qualified service contractor to the site. The service contractor will determine the cause of alarm and advise Quik Stop of site conditions. If an unauthorized release to secondary containment has occurred, action will be immediately taken to implement the Written Response Plan. F. The monitor panel and probes are checked and certified annually in August. Preventive maintenance and spill bucket testing is scheduled annually in conjunction with monitor certification. SB -989 testing is conducted tri -annually in December ('04, '07, ad infinitum). G. A description of the gasoline system operation and operator's responsibilities are included in the Franchise Agreement. Initial training in operation of the tank system and monitoring equipment is conducted "on the job" under the supervision of Quik Stop Personnel and the Designated UST Operator.
