Any individual performing the work of a service technician must meet the following <br />qualifications: <br />a. Possess or be employed by a person who possesses one of several permissible valid, <br />current contractor's licenses issued by the Contractors State License Board (may be issued <br />to the installation company), or a Tank Tester's license issued to the individual by the State <br />Water Board, and <br />b. Possess or work under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically <br />present at the work site who possesses a valid, current California UST Service Technician <br />certificate issued by the International Code Council (ICC), and <br />c. Possess a valid, current certificate of training from the manufacture(s) of the component(s) <br />being tested, repaired, or serviced. <br />7. Individuals installing underground storage tank system components must possess or work <br />under the direct and personal supervision of an individual physically present at the work site <br />who possesses at of the following: <br />a. A valid, current contractor's license issued by the Contractors State License Board, and <br />b. A valid, current UST Installation/Retrofitting certificate issued by the International Code <br />Council (ICC), and <br />c. A valid, current certificate of training from the manufacturer(s) of the component(s) being <br />installed. <br />8. Log into the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS), complete and submit a "UST <br />Certification of Installation/Modification" form for the 91 -primary -product line repair within 30 <br />days. <br />9. All components must be certified by an independent testing organization and labeled as <br />required by the organization (UL, ULC, ANSI, API, ASTM, etc.). See California Cod of <br />Regulations (CCR) Title 23, Chapter 16, Table B for a complete list. <br />10. Permit expires 180 days from the date of approval.
