a
Chris Retta, Project Manager
April 7, 1998
Page 2
March 9: Re-examined the secondary pipe. Signs of minor contamination were noted
in the secondary pipe.
Three of the tank sumps failed the lake test. A very poor fiber glass job.
March 10: Lake test remarks.
March 11: The lake tests passed.
March 24: Conducted a final inspection test of all sensors, TLS and emergency shut
down. The test failed.
March 25: Retested the system and reprogrammed the TLS system. The test passed.
March 26: Received the as-builts for the project with the change of piping.
At this time, I cannot approve the secondary containment piping, line 92 south dispenser
and center trench connection near 45 connector, line to 87 tank center trench and diesel
line north dispenser, due to the pea gravel contamination of the fuel lines. Most of the
gravel was removed, but some very small amounts were noted as remaining in the
secondary line. The facility may still open and operate, but without the fire department final
approval of these lines. Thank you for your cooperation.
DOUGLAS C.
