Place the bolt shafts through the holes from the inside of the tank and hold in place by
spring clips placed between the cover plate and the tank shell (see Figure 4). An optional method for
sealing the cover plate using 11/4" x 3/8" self-tapping bolts may also be used (see Figure 5).
2.11.6 Bolt the cover plate to the tank.Using EnvirolineTM 124 Epoxy Patching Compound, seal around
the cover plate a minimum of four (4) inches in all directions from the perimeter of the cover plate.
2.11.7 The cover plate and seal must be tested for tightness using a soap solution and air pressure
before the tank excavation area is backfilled. Apply the soap solution over the entire cover plate area
and pressurize the tank with a maximum five (5) psig of air. Inspect the cover plate area and seals for
bubbles.
2.11.8 Additional Testing:The tank and piping shall be precision tested in accordance with NFPA 329.
THE TANK SHALL NOT BE PLACED BACK INTO SERVICE UNTIL A FINAL INSPECTION IS APPROVED.
COVER PLATE
XXX
—",v.•:
•
FITTED WITH A WELDED
SLEEVE ON CENTER FOR
A 4" DIA.
