Ma Q The 10 Series Emergency Shut -Off Valves feature a combination body which includes both u -bolt and stabiliz- er bar mounting options, a low profile design and a secondary poppet hold - open bridge. These features make the 10 Series the most versatile, secure and convenient line of emergency shut-off valves on the market today. The OPW 10 Series Valves mount within the pedestal on fuel lines at island surface level. In the event the pedestal is dislocated or overturned, the OPW 10 Series is designed to break at the shear groove. When properly installed, the top section shears off, causing the valve to close, preventing gasoline spillage and reducing the likelihood of a potentially hazardous condition. The OPW 10 Series Valves are designed to handle today's methanol fuel blends such as M-85 and M-100. All OPW 10 Emergency Shut-off Valves meet the requirements of UL STANDARD 842. Important Notice: When mounting the OPW 10 Series Emergency Shut-off Valves, the anchoring device employed must withstand a force greater than 650 ft. pounds per valve. Both u -bolt and stabilizer bar hardware kits are provid- ed with each valve. Standard Features ♦ Combination Body - The 10 Series Emergency Shut-off Valves offer the versatility of a combination body for added convenience and security. This feature allows u -bolt or stabi- lizer bar mounting, thereby reducing the dangers of forcing inappropriate mounting. ♦ Low Profile Design - The 10 Series Double Poppet Emergency Valves' internally threaded and union designs are the same height as the single poppet versions, allowing eas- ier installation when upgrading an existing site or installing a new site, with the added security of a second Poppet. ♦ Hold -Open Bridge - The hold -open bridge holds the secondary poppet open to reduce product flow restriction. ® Low Pressure Loss - On all OPW 10 Series Valves, the primary poppet is out of the flow area, giving straight -through, free flow of prod- uct. On double poppet styles, the hold -open bridge holds the sec- ondary poppet open to reduce prod- uct flow restriction. ♦ Built -In Air Test Port - Allows pneumatic testing of the entire pumping system, without breaking the line, after installation is com- plete. ♦ Fusible Link - Releases at 165°F in the event of a fire, allowing the valve to automatically close, thereby reducing fire hazard. ♦ Main Seat In The Top Assembly Assures A New Seating Surface Each Time The Valvetop Is Replaced - Improving performance and extending valve service life. (OPW recommends that the electri- cal supply to the pump associated with an emergency valve be turned off during valve or meter service.) Additionally, this feature ensures the seal between the top and the valve body is tested during line testing and allows full inspection of the main poppet whenever the top is changed. Unique Features ♦ Discs and seals are made of OPW's special Compound M-19. This forti- fied elastomer improves the valve's resistance to alcohol enhanced fuels. ® NFPA code 30A, Automotive and Marine Service Station Code, requires that the automatic closing feature of emergency shut-off valves be checked at least once per year by manually tripping the hold -open linkage.
