We
cannot accept zip files due to computer security issues. Please provide details from Franklin
Fueling regarding the plug blank showing the compatibility with Diesel fuel. What is the plug
made of? How does Franklin Fueling know it is compatible with diesel fuel? There must be a
specification sheet for the plug part and information showing compatibility with diesel fuel —
that's the information we need. We also need the installation manual showing an install
procedure for the type of sump at this site since the existing penetration is being removed and
the plug is being installed in the hole.
The plug will become part of the secondary containment and must satisfy Title 23 CCR section
2631(d): A secondary containment system which is not an integral part of primary containment shall
be designed and constructed according to an engineering specification approved by a state registered
professional engineer or according to a nationally recognized industry code or engineering standard. The
engineering specification shall include the construction procedures. Materials used to construct the
secondary containment system shall have sufficient thickness, density, and corrosion resistance to
prevent structural weakening or damage to the secondary containment system as a result of contact with
any released hazardous substance.
Thank you,
Garrett Backus, Ld.
