W9!1211111 : <br />E <br />This section is subject to the General Conditions and Special <br />Provisions heading this specification as if herein repeated. <br />(a) Remove all four (4) fuel tanks shown on plan. Tanks No. I and <br />2 and connecting piping will be removed in the primary phase. <br />Disconnect and cap piping for Tank #4. Operate emergency <br />engine from Tank *3. Piping and tanks will in all cases be <br />disposed of as required by State and local agencies and proper <br />documentation turned over to owner that the State and Local <br />requirements have been satisfied. <br />(b) When new tank is installed in tank position No. I and the ne" <br />system completed and tested,, all fuel shall be filtered and <br />transferred from tanks No. 3 & No. 4 to the new tank. Tank <br />No. 3 & No. 4 complete with piping will then be removed and <br />disposed of above, as the second phase removal. <br />(c) Backfill hole with local soil, sand or gravel properly <br />compacted to support new roadway. <br />(d) If soil around tank is contaminated, remove soil and dispose <br />of same according to State and Local requirements. Proper <br />documentation will be turned over to the Omner. Per It <br />(e) Repaving of roadway and setting of new manholes shall be dom- <br />as final phase. Restore construction area to a condition as <br />near to original as possible. <br />(f) Paint all patched malls and all new piping and fittings to <br />match existing. <br />(9) Label all valves and piping in a similar fashion as <br />existing.
