•Apr 20 04 09:25a AL HUNZICKER I PQQ 537 1573
Installation Overview and
The TSP-ULS Standard liquid detecting sensor is designed to be
Theory of Operation
installed in sumps, dispenser pans, or in the 'dry interstitial' area of
a double wall steel tank. When used in the interstitial area, it is
installed through a 2 -inch riser pipe. Figures 7-1 and 7-2 show the
requirements for installation in sumps and steel tanks respectively.
In addition, items or steps necessary for the installation in the
interstitial space of steel tanks will be denoted by an asterisk
TSP-ULS Sensor
The TSP-ULS Standard sensor uses magnetic floattreed switch
technology. The magnetic float/reed switch is assembled for a
normally closed circuit when no liquid is present. When a liquid is
present, the magnetic float will rise, and after traveling 3/4 of an inch,
it will magnetically cause the reed switch to open.
NOTE
In all cases, an open (standard sensor) output is recognized as
an alarm condition by the TS-1000EF/ console.
