LVREDJACKET- CPT Controller Manual
Step 2: Record the gallons pumped during the timed interval.
coF- , Be sure to subtract the volume noted during the "running start"before
beginning the calculation below.
YN
er `1
x;
pro.
£ `•e•-. t"i •rmxo} , x
FIGURE 4.4 TIMING THE GALLONS PUMPED
Step 3: To calculate the flow rate, multiply by 4 the number of
gallons pumped during the 15-second interval. The result gives you
the flow rate in gallons per minute (gpm). l
Flow Rate = A x B
where:
A=the number of gallons pumped during the timed interval
B= the number of timed intervals in 1 minute (that is, there
are four 15-second intervals)
Step 4: Adjust the pump pressure, if necessary.
IF the flow rate is: THEN:
less than 10 gpm increase the pressure setting.
more than 10 gpm decrease the pressure setting_.
10 gpm do not chap a the pressure setting.
The pressure setting can be changed by
0 entering a new pressure using a Tech Pod (see "Tech
Pod User's Guide"), or
0 turning the rotary dial (clockwise to increase the
pressure; counterclockwise to decrease the pressure).
Step 5: Repeat this calibration test until the flow rate reaches but
does not exceed 10 gpm, the maximum flow rate allowable by EPA
regulations.
Chapter 4:Operation 4-6 ARE260-240 Rev.A ♦ 6/87
