Page 9 Cabral-McAdams Property October 16,2006 Job No. 1828-092.02 LABORATORY RESULTS Orchard Areas Surface soil samples collected within the orchard areas (locations Sl through S8) were laboratory tested separately for lead and arsenic, and laboratory combined into four two- part composite samples for analysis for organochlorinated pesticides. Concentrations of lead measured in the soil samples collected from these locations ranged from 30 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) to 75 mg/kg; arsenic concentrations measured in these samples ranged from 3.8 mg/kg to 9.0 mg/kg. Organochlorinated pesticides were not detected in any of the composite soil samples above laboratory reporting limits with the exception of 4,4'-DDE and 4,4'-DDT which were detected at very low concentrations in each composite sample. Concentrations of 4,4'-DDE ranged from 0.087 mg/kg to 0.25 mg/kg, and concentrations of 4,4'DDT ranged from 0.0088 mg/kg to 0.021 mg/kg. Laboratory analysis of the four deep soil samples collected at locations S44 through S47 did not reveal concentrations of organochlorinated pesticides or DCBP above laboratory reporting concentrations. One duplicate sample was collected at location S45 (Sample Number S45-10'B) and analyzed to evaluate laboratory quality control for organochlorinated pesticides and DCBP. Our review of the analytical data for the duplicate sample indicate reasonable conformance of laboratory protocol and quality control. Area A Surface soil samples collected at locations S9 through S12, S24 through S28, and S43, as well as the one-foot-deep soil samples collected from locations S9 and S10 were analyzed for lead and arsenic. Concentrations of lead detected in the soil samples collected from these locations ranged from 6.4 mg/kg to 110 mg/kg. Arsenic concentrations in these samples ranged from less than 2.0 mg/kg to 9.8 mg/kg, except for the surface sample collected at location S 10,which contained 12 mg/kg. Surface soil samples collected at S9 through S12 were laboratory-combined into two, two-part composite samples for analysis for organochlorinated pesticides. Surface soil samples from locations S24 through S28 and S43, as well as the soils collected at a depth of one foot at locations S9 and S 10 also were analyzed for organochlorinated pesticides. In general, concentrations of organochlorinated pesticides were not detected in any of the composite surface soil samples at concentrations above laboratory reporting limits, with the exception of 4,4'-DDE, 4,4'-DDD, 4,4'-DDT, and chlordane which were detected at very low concentrations (well below established regulatory agency screening levels). Dieldrin was detected in the composite soil sample from locations S9 and S10 at a concentration of 0.110 mg/kg, and from the sample collected from location S27 at a concentration of 0.031 mg/kg.
