4.0 Response Teams Version :27.10.4 <br /> Membership <br /> The National Team is staffed by specially trained personnel from various Shell business units <br /> and by consultants. <br /> AWAY Team <br /> The AWAY Team is a component of the National Response Team, and is composed of <br /> designated, Houston-based personnel from various Shell departments. Upon activation, the <br /> AWAY Team will preliminarily: <br /> . Assess the magnitude of the incident and its potential impact; <br /> • Estimate the level of effort necessary for minimizing its impact; and <br /> . Depart to the scene of an incident from the Shell Corporate Hanger at Houston Bush <br /> Intercontinental Airport as soon as possible, typically within two hours after being <br /> activated. <br /> Once on scene, the AWAY Team will use the Incident Command System to: <br /> • Manage the incident response; or <br /> • Support the Local Team by integrating with the local response organization, providing <br /> liaison to government agencies and the news media, supporting or taking over any duties <br /> mutually agreed to, and helping keep the HSC and the SOP US/Shell CMT informed. <br /> Houston Support Center <br /> When activated, the Houston Support Center (HSC) will be staffed to provide 24-hour Facility <br /> support, including managing field activities from the HSC until the AWAY Team and/or National <br /> Team arrives on scene. <br /> Corporate Emergency Response Team <br /> The Corporate Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a cross functional team of emergency <br /> responders from the operating business units. CERT members possess skills in one or more of <br /> the following areas: <br /> • Incident Command <br /> . Safety Officer <br /> • Medical Unit Leader <br /> • Operations Skill Pool <br /> Fire fighting leadership <br /> Hazardous materials response <br /> Rescue <br /> Planning Section Chief <br /> CERT members may be activated to respond to any non-oil spill emergency.
