Second, a designated inspector will inspect each load of scrap material that contains
any appliances to determine whether each such Appliance within that load may require removal
of Refrigerants, switches, capacitors, ballasts, or waste oil.
The designated inspector then will segregate appliances fi-om the other scrap material, into one
area for those appliances that may contain Refrigerants and waste oil (e.g. refrigerator, freezers,
and air conditioning units) and another area for all other appliances. The facility collects such
appliances in each area in quantities that are reasonable for efficient removal of MRSH by
trained persorinel. Once the MRSH are removed, the facility moves the appliance carcasses into
the general scrap metal handling areas appropriate for such materials..
Equipment Used in Removing and Managing MRSH
A.
